It's fantastic to see a web site set up. I've wondered for many years as to what happened to all the guys and gals on our 4th E-course. would love to hear from them and hope they'll contribute to this site. Neville Cordingley was on our course. He brought his Collie dog to Rabaul. With its thick coat it was very uncomfortable in the tropical heat. We convinced Nev that it should be shorn. Nev wanted some hair left so it ended up with a mane around its neck. he took it out in our mini bus for prac. teaching having prepared a nature studies lesson on different types of dogs. The kids as usual clustered around the back door to welcome us. Out bounded the maned-Collie. Lion! they shouted and ran for the shelter of the coconut trees. They took some persuading to come back ! I subsequently taught at Mapamoiwa on Fergusson Island.

Does anyone remember, Teacher's Tea Time, with Wal Capper and Doug Fyffe, on the radio, 10:00am weekdays in the early seventies????

Hey, Bernard, what about your story re the wonderful days at Rabaul during the 7th E course!!!! Remember the armchair chats Jim Keirnan gave us instead of remedial English? And what about Father (Jim) Walker and his comments on our lesson observation notes!! Surely you remember!!!

Well done, Dick Jones. Thanks for your input about the re-union. We did not have enough time to yakka!! It was good to catch up with Alan Jones and Jeff Chapman and associate with those who experienced the real Papua New Guinea

I have been corresponding electronically with Graeme O'Toole. Does anyone know where big Dave Kelly is ? He was an E-courser, but I am uncertain which intake he was part of. Incidentally, I met Dick Clark (a contributor to this guestbook) at our 1962-63 ASOPA reunion weekend earlier this month in the Cremorne/Neutral Bay/Mosman suburbs of Sydney. Dick and his wife were guests at the 3-day function. It's 30 years since I 'graced' a classroom -- I have been a print and electronic media journo for the past 3 decades.

No story at this stage. However,my wife and I attended several re-union functions of the 1962-63 AOSPA group held in Sydney. What about a re-union of E Course graduates?? I am a 7th E-Course graduate.

I have a dear old friend Neville Cordingly who was an early Ecourse teacher.I suspect he may have been inthe first intake.Do you know him?? He is now living in Alstonville and I see him when we visit that area about 3/4 times per year. I was a member of the 62/63 ASOPA group and met Neville in Bougainville.Knowing Cords as I do, I suspect that he may be a little ambivalent about renewing old PNG associations. Hence my question to you if he was indeed a member of your intake. Regards Bill Bergen

Someone went to visit Doug Fife after he had been teaching at his school a couple of years. The visitor spied a young lad in traditional green school laplap and asked, "Where can I find Mr. Fife"? The lad replied, "He's oop at the hoos"
